General Safety

Sexual Harassment or Promotion of Sexual Harassment

Commentator strictly prohibits any conduct that could be classified as sexual harassment or misconduct or incites, promotes or encourages sexual misconduct, violence or harassment towards any player, associate or affiliate of sporting clubs, fans or any other persons.

Violent or Dangerous Content

Do not promote violence, incite hatred, vilify anyone or any group, harass, bully or engage in any other behaviour that could put another person or groups of persons at risk of violence.

Commentator understands that certain sporting events are expected to carry with them a level of aggression and violence. Commentator also understands that as part of broadcasting a sport, criticism of the sport, sportspersons or other persons related to a sporting club is necessary, and may be a desirable feature. However, behaviour that poses a risk of violence or results in harm goes beyond this and is not permitted.

Terrorism

The Commentator platform and services are not designed and built for users to organise, incite, arrange or conduct acts of terrorism.

Any conduct that incites, promotes or displays acts of terror or violent extremism is strictly prohibited. This includes any content that seeks to radicalize users or instructs acts of terror, as well as any content involving radicalization, recruitment or propaganda on behalf of recognized terrorist organizations.

Personal Safety

We understand that broadcasters and listeners should be able to discuss sensitive topics related to self-harm or mental health, especially when that relates to sport or sports persons. We want Commentator to be a safe space to do so.

However, harming yourself, or discussing self-harm, can be dangerous for not only yourself but for listeners and those around you and is therefore prohibited. We also prohibit activity that may endanger your life, lead to your physical harm, or encourage others to engage in physically harmful behaviour.

Doxxing

The unauthorised or non-consensual release of any private personally identifying information about a person or organisation (referred to as doxxing) is prohibited on the Commentator platform and any related services.

Respecting the privacy of all persons, especially the sports persons for which the broadcaster is commentating is integral to the continued safety of the Commentator community and community at large.

Racism and Hate Speech

Sports are greatly benefitted by being multicultural. Every race and culture is represented in sports and Commentator believes that sports and sports broadcasting are greater for this and wishes to foster this.

Racism and hate speech are strictly prohibited on the Commentator platform and related services.

We intentionally leave this section as basic as possible so as to capture all forms of racism and/or hate speech.

Public Disturbances

We understand that sport generates large numbers of fans who may congregate in large groups. Trust us, we are some of those fans. We want to encourage such instances. We think those moments are some of the greatest moments that a person can experience.

However, we also are wary that such instances can turn into public disturbances, and urge all broadcasters and listeners to take this into account.

We also understand that, on occasion, people are allowed to congregate and watch sports in public places together. That is why context is important here.

Encouraging public disturbances or meet ups which may fall outside of such instances are prohibited. Actions that cause or are likely to cause significant public disruption are prohibited.

Authenticity, Scams and Deceptive Conduct

Trust in the Commentator platform and the persons that use it is central to achieving Commentator’s goals and creating the communities and experiences that we want to foster.

Authenticity

Impersonating any individual or organisation, or producing any content that is meant to impersonate an individual or organisation is prohibited.

Scams and Malicious Conduct

Any conduct, content or activity that violates the integrity of the Commentator platform and its related services or any user of the Commentator platform and its related services is strictly prohibited.

Such conduct or content is harmful to the Commentator experience and creates a negative experience. This is the context for which this section shall be evaluated.

This section is designed to capture all other deceptive conduct that is not captured by the above. Any conduct, content or activity that is malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or disruptive to the Commentator platform and its related services or its users, partners, affiliates, associates, employees, friends or any other individual or organisation is prohibited.
